Tempest Bledsoe studied at the New York University from where she graduated with a degree in finance. She enjoys a close friendship with actress Pam Potillo, with whom she worked on The Cosby Show.

Tempest is a vegetarian and she enjoys listening to music. She was placed at the 51st place on the 100 Greatest Kid Stars list of VH1’s. Tempest has been having a steady relationship with actor Darryl M. Bell, for the past 16 years. The two are supposed to be seen together in an upcoming reality series named Househusbands of Hollywood.

Tempest is most known for her roe of Vanessa Huxtable on the super hit comedy series The Cosby Show. Besides that, she has worked in numerous other TV shows most prominent amongst which are Dance ‘Til Dawn, Dream Date, The Practice, The Expendables, South of Nowhere, The Tempestt Bledsoe Show, The Parkers, The Practice, Husband for Hire and The Replacements, etc. Her upcoming TV project, Wishing Well is currently in the stage of post-production.

Besides earning a name for herself on the small screen, Tempest has also impressed the audiences of the big screen through her histrionics. She has been seen in only two movies but these have been enough to lay a lasting impression on her fans. The movies in which Tempest has worked are, Johnny B Good and BachelorMan. In 2006, she and her co-stars were nominated for the TV Land Awards, under the category of Favorite Singing Siblings for The Cosby Show. She was nominated for the Young Artist Award three more times for her role in The Cosby Show. In 1985, she was nominated under the category of Best Young Supporting Actress in a Television Comedy Series. In 1987, she was nominated under the category of Exceptional Performance by a Young Actress, Starring in a Television, Comedy or Drama Series and in 1990, she was nominated under the category of Best Young Actress Supporting Role in a Television Series.

Role In The Cosby Show

In The Cosby Show, Tempest plays the role of Vanessa Huxtable. She is the third daughter and the fourth child of Cliff and Clair Huxtable. At the start of the show, she was shown to be 11 years old. During her growing up years on the show, Vanessa went through all the typical teenage issues as well as heartbreaks. She was portrayed as an outstanding student who appears to enjoy school. As a result she ended up going to college, one year before she was due for the same. In the seventh season of the show, Vanessa became engaged to Dabnis Brickey, who was in his late twenties. However, after realizing that she was not ready for marriage yet, Vanessa broke off the engagement and was satisfied by being just friends with Dabnis.
